
Jonathan (Jono) Sandler
Director and Principal Physiotherapist
In addition to working at Unbreakable Physiotherapy, Jono is also currently a Physiotherapist for the Melbourne Demons AFL team. Additionally, Jono is an APA Titled Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist following his successful completion of the Masters of Sports Medicine from The University of Melbourne.
Prior to opening Unbreakable Physiotherapy, Jono was the Head Physiotherapist for the New Zealand Breakers NBL Basketball team for three years. During this time, he also spent time with the Chicago Bulls NBA team, assisting the High Performance team during training camp in Chicago and the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. Jono has also previously worked at Carlton FC (AFL), Northern Blues FC (VFL) and Melbourne City FC (A-League).
Jono’s considerable experience working in professional sport and private practice has provided him with a wealth of knowledge to draw on to assist with your injuries. Jono has additionally taught at La Trobe University and has published multiple research journal articles in the areas of tendon pain, hip and groin strength and concussion.
Throughout this time Jono worked in a busy Physiotherapy private practice, where he continued to treat patients with all different injuries and challenges. Jono’s key interest areas are all acute and chronic knee and back injuries, as well as running and tendon injuries. However, through his years of experience, Jono has vast knowledge of all musculoskeletal injuries.
Additionally, Jono is also GLA:D trained, which is a specific program designed for those with hip and knee osteoarthritis. Unbreakable Physiotherapy runs GLA:D group exercises classes multiple times weekly.
