Sam Jacobs

APA Titled Paediatric Physiotherapist

Sam is an APA Titled Paediatric Physiotherapist specialising in early identification and intervention for at-risk infants, as well as the management of childhood orthopaedic conditions. He has worked across major healthcare settings, including Monash Children’s Hospital, Joan Kirner Women’s and Children’s Hospital, and the Victorian Paediatric Rehabilitation Service.

Sam has a special interest in neurodevelopmental therapy for premature infants and children with developmental vulnerabilities. As a General Movements Trust-accredited clinician, he is skilled in identifying infants at risk of neurological conditions such as cerebral palsy, enabling early, targeted interventions that support optimal motor development and long-term outcomes.

Sam is experienced in the assessment and management of infant packaging disorders, including torticollis, plagiocephaly, talipes, and developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH). He works closely with families to implement early intervention strategies that promote symmetrical development and prevent long-term musculoskeletal concerns.

In addition to early intervention, Sam provides care for children with common paediatric gait variations, including intoeing and toe walking. He takes an evidence-based approach to ensure children develop efficient, pain-free movement patterns that support their participation in daily activities.

Sam is passionate about a strengths-based approach to therapy, embracing each child’s uniqueness and supporting children and their families to reach their full potential. He believes in making therapy engaging, functional, and family-centred, empowering children to develop the skills they need for everyday life.
